Having trouble saving Kent in the Silver Shroud quest? Here are your best bets on how to save him before he takes a bullet to the back of the head!
Step 1) Get through the quest until he is kidnapped.
This is a step of the quest 'the silver shroud' that tends to cause the most problems, the first thing you are going to need to do is actually get to this point in the quest. During the quest story line you'll find out that Sinjin has kidnapped Kent and taken him to the Milton General hospital. Before you head into the hospital, make sure you save, and make sure you come in dressed as the silver shroud.
Step 2) Take the elevator down to meet Sinjin.
Once you head down, you have a few options of how to go about this. If you have a high charisma stat, you can try to work this out with a few charisma checks. You'll need at least 8 or 9 to pull this off, so while you are riding the elevator down, pop some mentats to boost the stat and you might be able to get by with a few reloads and luck before it works. If your charisma isn't high enough for this to work though, continue on to the next step.
Step 3) Play your part as the Silver Shroud.
Run in as soon as you get off the elevator and pick a good position where you can see Sinjin from, if you are quick you should be able to get pretty close before the dialog starts. During the talk, choose the option to speak as the shroud as often as possible, and be ready to act quickly as soon as you are done talking because he's going to shoot Kent as soon as he's done talking. While he's making his little speech, grab your highest damage weapon and use VATS to aim for his head. Make sure you use a critical hit to take him out in one shot, and the rest of his gang will panic and take off, leaving Kent behind.
Talk with Kent now that the coast is clear and you're in the clear, mission successful!
