[SOLVED] how to stop audio coming through monitor and only headset (AOC 27g2u)

So I recently brought I aoc monitor (27g2u) and wanted to plug in my headset to the back of the monitor, however when I plug the headset in audio continues to come through the monitors speakers and the headset. So I was wondering if I could make the audio only come through the headset and not the monitors as well.

It's usually in the monitors own OSD(On Screen Display) menu. You should be able to turn down volume or speakers somewhere using the monitor buttons.

I see volume listed in the manual under OSD SETUP in the monitors menus.
