please advise the easiet way to determine
when and if SP2 is on my system.
( i currently have fully registered, legal,
xp home version, sp1)

i'll wait for automatic update to take effect.
but simply want to monitor from time to time.

all the forum chatter about
problems has me a bit concerned.

thanks,
robert

In Internet Explorer, If you click on Help> About Internet Explorer
Then you will see Update Version: SP2

Go to system properties and the general tab should tell you what SP you have
installed.

Not so sure about Internet Explorer help I'd have thought that would provide
information about IE only.

You would have known when it was downloaded and installed, because it
requires user intervention to agree to the EULA.

Oh no you don't yet have SP2, look just below the line you quoted you will
see "Update versions SP1; Qxxx; Qxxy etc. You probably still have the
update page "v4.windowsupdate.microsoft etc."
As I understand, MS are beginning their distribution of SP.2 to users with
SP1a with effect 16 August 2004.

Hi, Robert.

Win+Break

That is, hold the Windows logo key and press Pause/Break. The System
Properties page will pop up in your face, and it will say Service Pack 2 if
you have it installed.

Everybody has their favorite way to see the System Properties page; this is
my favorite.
