Hello,
I have a 64 gig attache 2.0 flashdrive. I usd it in my xbox 360, so now it is write protected. I was using it my computer today, and it got a virus. When I try to reset it, it says that it is writ protected. How do I take this off?!
I could not see a write protect switch in the PNY product guide, but just check to make sure, if there is one, it didn't get flipped to Read Only
Otherwise, plug the flash drive in your computer.
Then go to the Cmd Prompt, RunAs Administrator,
Then type Diskpart >
To list all the available Disks, type List Disks. You will see all the drives listed with a number ID. So the flashdrive might be Disk 3, or whatever.
Now type Select Disk # (whatever the flashdrive # is)

First backup what ever you want saved from the drive then download the pny recovery tool from here: http://www.pny.com.tw/index.php?cls=2&mode=download
find the appropriate tool for your drive
run the program
ta-da
your drive is reformatted.
I've been trying to do this for nearly a year and today found the tool to format my 64GB PNY flash drive.

Thank you soooo much for your forum solution, I've tried everything even on Youtube videos instructions and nothing worked until I click on the Link you provided and downloaded the recovery tool for my PNY USB 64 Gb and to quote you.."TA-DA!" I'm surprised no one else has brought this up? Oh well it definitely worked for me.
