Question How to transfer all information for windows 8 computer to new windows 10 computer

So I have a 6-8 year old probably windows 8 dell laptop that I have used for the longest time and now want to transfer over all the information to a new dell laptop that has windows 10. For the most part I can transfer all the files I think but I realized I have 100+ passwords stored on Firefox and google chrome as well as bookmarks etc. Is there an app or software that makes it easy to copy everything over to my pc without missing any files, or data like the passwords and bookmarks Im speaking of. Thanks

"all the information"..................that will be highly problematic, subject to your definition of that phrase.

You can rather easily transfer all of your personal data.

Installed applications need to be reinstalled on the Windows 10 machine.

Browser-related stuff like bookmarks can often be transferred by copying your browser's profile to the new machine . Where that resides depends on what browser you use.

I think Firefox lives in appdata\roaming within C:\Windows\your user name.

Most of this data is typically within your user folder, which is located in C:\Users\[username]. If you want an easy way to transfer everything, make sure the option "Show hidden files and folders" is set in the Explorer's Folder Options and then copy and paste everything from the old computer to the new one before you install any programs on it.

Regarding your Chrome and Firefox data, assuming you don't want to sign up for accounts or whatever, the data lives in the "AppData\Local" folder in your user folder. You can literally copy and paste say the Firefox data from one computer to another and assuming there wasn't anything there before, you can open Firefox right where you left off.

If you do this and you get complaints about stuff in AppData\Local\Temp or AppData\Local\Microsoft, you can generally ignore these as Temp are the temporary files and stuff in Microsoft usually relates to the pre-installed Windows apps.

You can copy your personal files to elsewhere.
A flash drive, perhaps. Just the files, NOT the Libraries that may contain them.

Each browser has an export/import feature.
Export from the old system and browser, save to a flash drive, Import into the new system.
Each browser has slightly different steps.
