I can run Crysis and Crysis Warhead on very high/enthusiast at 1920x1080 and get 35-50 fps. I heard that the 2nd Crysis will run more smoothly on computers due to much better coding and optimization. Do you think I can run it on it's max settings like I can Crysis 1?

Yes. Definitely, Good specs.
You already knew the answer 😀

I don't need 3-way SLI GTX 580's and a 4.0 GHz OC'ed CPU to run Crysis 2 on it's on it's max settings?

The Crysis 2 demo only uses DX9. DX10 and DX11 are highly optimized for multi-GPU setups, meaning it might increase performance in computers with more than one GPU. I believe DX9 is coded only to use a single GPU.

No, you don't need 3 way sli 580. It will run well with your current hardware !

Someone said that it's max settings will be more torturous on PC hardware than the first Crysis.

I can playably max out Crysis and Warhead on my current hardware. It slows down a bit here and there, but otherwise it's very playable.

I have a dell studio xps, because i didnt know how to build my own yet. It has a QuadCore Intel Core i7-920, 2666 MHz processor, 3gb ram, windows 7 home premium 64-bit, dell studio xps 435T/9000 motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 1792 MB video card, Dell SX2210 22" LCD Monitor. Will crysis 2 run well on my computer? I can't play the demo because theres no one else to play it with, so please help me.

Crysis 2 is a lot less demanding than Crysis and Crysis Warhead.

I am not sure what the current situation with CrossFire or SLI issues (if any) though. See following charts and link as an example:

i dont think those benches are to reliable seeing the the 5870 beats the 6870 in both and the 6870 beats the 5870 in other benches repeatedly. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/294?vs=292
also there isnt a 6790 out there unless im mistaken

Your link compares the HD 5870 to the HD 6970, not the HD 6870 that you mentioned in your post. Here is a proper link that compares the HD 5870 to the HD 6870.

As can be seen, the HD 5870 beats the HD 6870 in most benchmarks which is similar to the Techpowerup result.
