Hi there,
I have an ultra-wide monitor, the HP Envy 34c Media Display, which has worked fine for years but suddenly it started acting funny.
The reason I post my question here is because my Google searches have turned out empty and I'm reluctant to open it up and check the hardware inside.
The funny thing is I don't have an issue with the display itself, that still works. But the problem is I can't control the monitor anymore through the OSD.
To be precise, I can't get the monitor to show the OSD at all. Every external button I press (Volume up, volume down, power button, menu button, ...) all just mute or unmute the built-in speakers. I know this because the mute/unmute icon displays every time I press a button.
The remote that comes with it also has the same issue, every button does the same thing: mute/unmute.
I made the conclusion that this had to be a software issue so I installed/reinstalled the latest drivers for both the monitor and GPU.
I also did a clean windows install to be sure. But nothing worked.
Could this be a hardware issue?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
