HP graphics card

Hello

Unfortunately, a few days ago the screen began fllickering and to be on the blink, which is why I considered the graphic card to be defective. However, I do not want to chuck my pc away because I am pretty sure all that is damaged is the graphic card;-) I´d rather buy a new card, but unfortunately I do not know which one is compatible with the mainboard ( http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01611313&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=ch&dlc=de&lang=de&lc=de&os=2093&product=3818709#N276).

Could someone please give me an advice which graphic card I should buy in this case (is it PCI-express x16 that I need?) Which models (in the low price range) would you recommend? It is important that it is also compatible and runs in the system cited above.

The primary limiting factor for you is the 300W PSU. That will limit the options of any new card quite a bit. So you can just check for PCI-E x16 cards that require a 300W PSU or less, and that will be what you can do without also replacing the PSU.

Generally speaking, AMD cards seem to be lighter on the power consumption, but since what you have now is an nVidia card, it might be easier to limit yourself further to nVidia cards to make it easier to deal with drivers. All you have to do is update your nVidia drivers with an nVidia card, you don't have to dump the nVidia drivers and then load the AMD drivers. Just make sure to check the power supply requirements and that they're 300W or less before you buy.
