Hi

I got this MB http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131631

and

bought this USB to Parallel cable

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812156005

to install my HP Laserjet 2100 on Windows 7 32bit.

I downloaded and tried all drivers from HP site

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=14914&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=25469&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4062

However I can only print small pdf files and notepad files only (I tried couple of words).

Is it time for me to buy a new printer or am I doing something wrong.

The new cable is detected as IEEE-1284 controller, but printed is not detected and then I install the drivers and use USB001 Virtulization Port.

Should I try a different cable from Frys such as

http://www.frys.com/search?search_type=regular&sqxts=1&query_string=usb+to+parallel&submit.x=0&submit.y=0&cat=0

or

PCI to Parallel

or

Time for new printer :fou:

PS: When I try to configure USB001 Virtual Printer Port

I get and error "An error occurred during port configuration. This operation is not supported"
