HP should spent the money on developing drivers for Snow Leopard. I have a perfectly good printer without drivers so its useless. I won't buy a HP product again because having useless products is not funny. These ads don't change that.

HP means outsourced to India...and cut corners...I don't even work there but that's all I hear...and they're laptops run hot...I have a tablet and it's super horrible go buy an acer.

HP used to make the best printers and used to have the best customer service. I bought their printers exclusively for about 10 years until the early to mid 2000s when they started installing several hundred megabytes of crapware when you installed their "drivers". Their drivers frequently disappeared, would not work at all, or would freeze my printers.

In the last 5 years I have had nothing but trouble with their software and hardware. My last 3 expensive printers from them died quickly.

HP products aren't too bad. They have some new ink that supposedly gives you about 2,000 pages per cartridge (if you set the printer to draft mode of course), and their computers are competitive with price and feature sets. HP definitely beats Dell in my book, but they need to work on the "touchsmart" touch screens so that they last more than 2 years.

[citation][nom]kartu[/nom]Wake up, guys. 40 millions spent on ads for multibillion multinational company is not "so much".[/citation]
True true. But why celebrities? I have NEVER bought a product because a fn celebrity was pictured as "using" or "supported" it. In the end, the consumer always pays for it...

that doesn't made me forget they don't include my dv9335nr on the recall ,it had a faulty nvidia chip 1yr 2mos for a @1440us +tax...rats.

To be perfectly honest, that 40 million dollars could have been better spent by giving us rebates. If everyone who buys something from hp gets a 30% off rebate coupon for the next product they purchase, that would probably not cost 40M; it would be an investment. AND people would be happier. I mean, it's not like we don't know what HP is.

[citation][nom]Shadow703793[/nom]Hmm... how about using that $40 million to make better products?[/citation]
HP makes amazing products for business. It's their consumer line that sucks, just like Sony. Anyone in IT purchasing has HP on quick dial. Notice how all the ads are targeted to businesses?

Geico adds? lol. I wonder how much money they would save their customers if they didn't advertise. Commercials are one of the top 5 reason I no longer watch TV. #1 being that their is very little on to begin with.

In China a group of customer has sued HP for the overheating laptops and that they where offered far less than customers over in US who had the same problem. I wish the Chinese the best luck.

[citation][nom]nachowarrior[/nom]just goes to show that if you spend 40 million dollars you can make idiots buy crap... hey guys, anyone got 40 million so i can sell my turds?[/citation]

All comments should be deleted, and this one entered into the hall of fame. +google rep.

just make sure those turds are priced competitively and break a week after their warranty is up while you're stepping (or shitting) on your customers.

They could have dropped the price of their laptops instead...by about $1 each.

[citation][nom]Marco925[/nom]I wonder... if i claim I do amazing... Will the australian guy visit me? [/citation]

Just a heads-up he's a Kiwi. We're rather proud of him and the Flight of the Conchords, as New Zealand doesn't get noticed much for anything else!

"Dr." Dre

There went my recommendations or interest in HP products. I don't support that sub culture.

[citation][nom]LaughALot[/nom]maybe they should focus on making a product that is reliable and service that doesn't suck. I use to be a HP fan, I stop buying HP about three years ago.[/citation]

Agreed, their DV6 models and I believe dv7 are having a lot of overheating problems with the motherboard. It's real bad.

I overall like HP, they are the only brand who fully supports the people selling their products (and endorses to have them sold) and offers great services to customers and retailers.

They need to get their hardware situation straightened for sure.

40,000,000?!?!?! while there are people without food or even without a pc for knowledge and hp just throw it away like this? now i know why the world is going against a flat wall

wouldn't it have been a better campaign to give away 40 million dollars worth of equipment? or offer massive discounts on all their products until they reach the 40 million mark? with just some simple web based ads it would have become viral and a bunch of people would have been super happy to have a new laptop for super cheap... Though I guess things like this pay for us to watch new episodes of Lost or House 😉

[citation][nom]maigo[/nom]I've never owned an HP product I enjoyedNever seen one I wantedNever liked one I've fixed[/citation]

Could not have said it any better !
