I have an HP z210 CMT work station with a 400 Watt power supply which isn't much to power a decent graphics card. The board doesn't support an ATX power supply nor does one fit into the case correctly. This is what I have found out so far:
"This is standard for pretty much any HP workstation - the core components other than drives, memory and of course add-on cards must be from HP. Z200 series aren't designed for any heavy duty graphics work, and even if you put the 750W PSU in, the airflow isn't adequate for full-length Quadro series cards.
The CMT version of Z210 does support Quadro 2000 though. HP Support ... there answer was "the 400W power supply is the only one approved for use in this system"."
This was a year ago so I am wondering if there are any cards other than the Quadros that will run well with this system, or visa versa if HP has an updated higher wattage power supply to support higher end cards.
I apologize if this is not the correct forum to post this in, but I didn't see a power supply section.
