Only problem with that build is that "some AMD B450 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Matisse CPUs. Upgrading the BIOS may require a different CPU that is supported by older BIOS revisions." Therefore, if the mobo doesn't come updated with the latest BIOS settings, I wouldn't be able to boot the PC up to even upgrade the BIOS.

The MSI MAX series of boards were launched after the Ryzen 3rd gen. processors release in order to be compatible with the 3xxx series out of the box. You are getting that message because PCPP deems all b450 boards as equal, and cannot differentiate which was released earlier or later.

If that was 3 or 4 months ago I would say the same thing, but now most if not all mobos already left the factory with a bios that supported the new CPUs, mine did (Steel legend).
