Most anything will run, it just might not be a good idea to run some newer games on ultra settings. If you want anything and everything to run, get the GeForce 560 Ti Superclocked edition. It is somewhere around $60 more though.

The 6870 can run those games well. I have Civ 5 it runs great. There is lag when you get to later parts of the game. It's because of the loading and hard drive.

I have Batman arkham asylum goty edition. Even without physx, i find it superb. Unfortunately, don't have arkahm city. It runs the same engine, don't think it will impact the card.

Setting at Very High
Min FPS: 76
Max FPS: 204
Average FPS: 155

Multi-Samping Anti-Aliasing (MSAA): On at highest (x8)
Min FPS: 75
Max FPS: 178
Average FPS: 134

Yep, this card can run the game pretty well. Note, that I have an MSI R6870 Hawk 1GB. It's factory overclocked, I didn't do clock it any higher than the manufacturer. A great card for me

You may want to turn your V-Sync on, because there will be screen tear, there is so much frames this card has, the monitor will go out of sync lol.
