i can no longer access system restore

I tried via start/programs/access/system tools/system restore and nothing
happens anymore.
I also tried to duplicate other means to access SR from this newsgroup.
help! i'm 'puter stupid so keep responses simple

I'm sure you're not stupid. Computers cannot be successfully used by people
who are stupid.
