I was having a bad crashing problem and I finally found out what it
was -- spyware. I have a good firewall and virus protection, so I
thought I was safe, but I wasn't. I finally downloaded a spyware
killer and found about 50 spyware instances on my computer. Once I
got rid of them, the crashes (that kind anyway) stopped.

I've been helping several people who never heard of spyware - their PC's
had almost grinded to a complete hold, and running browsers were a
nightmare.

The record is 700+ (seven hundred!!!) spy-bugs and malwares on one PC owned
by a thai monk of my aquaintance... ;-)
