[SOLVED] I can't install Windows on old drive using legacy boot ?

My friend gave me his older desktop pc , which is a better one than mine (dell xps 8940) ...i tried to reinstall Windows 10 on to my used sata ssd drive that had Windows on it but I got this error:

" Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table.
On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks . "

I tried to change the boot to legacy in the bios but it seems legacy mode is absent completely ...what do I need to do ... can I somehow convert my ssd so it could run on this system ?

as you need to reinstall the OS, might as well start fresh/clean. I'd also advise on recreating your bootable USB installer for Windows 10. Make sure you have the drive you intend to install the OS on hooked to the platform, while all other drives are disconnected.

I figured the solution - I converted to drive to gpt by using command prompt and now I can reinstall Windows
