I deleted contents of my external hard drive using acronis and now it does not a

Hello,
I have a western digital1.5 TB external hard drive that I was using for backup.I decided to delet everything and get ride of all the traces by using acronis.after I was done,when I connect ex hd to my laptop,it shows a usb drive at the bottom bar,but does not show the ex hd in my computer,so I can partition and use it again.can any body help me with this proble.Thank you
