Hello, I am considering a Dual core 4GB, ram 320 GBHDD, blue ray laptop, by Gateway, with Athlon dual core processor. Advertising is stating this is the most advanced on the market. For video etc.
Comparing to a rebuild Mac. I need it to easily and quickly burn cd's at great quality, provide good webinar and podcast production. I have no clue, really on what I need for doing this but want better quality than I have seen on many podcast and u tube productions. Or does that have to do with the filming?

Link us to your computer. Tell us the specs of the Mac.

I would consider a desktop if I were you. It would allow you to select a faster cd burner. Although, the tech has been on the market for so long almost everything will be the same. Quality has to do with filming.

Thank you so much for the reply, you gave me some gold nuggets regarding the filming = quality and speed for the cd. What is with the notice of deletion wish? What exactly does that mean? It can be taken a few ways, considering your group is so technically advanced, I acknowledge that, thank you for being there. But I thought this was for helping those of us less knowledgeable in this field. It could be "veteran" was annoyed or ????? I don't want to assume something.

The quality of your podcasts and youtube production is more determined by the camera and the software used to create it. Now when you get into looking for a laptop to do these things its more about how fast it will encode and burn, a quad core will encode a video and burn twice as fast as a dual core. Now as for gateway stating its the most advanced on the market that might be an old ad because there are processors that will crush an athlon in performance. So with that being said your decision on a laptop would be for the performance that it will give you useing the software that will give you quality videos.

The dual core athlon laptop with 4 GB of ram is a good start i would say it needs more hard drive space but 320 GB is still alot. The most advanced laptops on the market will be carrying an I7 chip or an I5 which are both Intel chips but these will cost at least double of an athlon. So depending on how much performance you are looking for and the price range you have will determine what you are getting. With all that being said that laptop from gateway is definitely not the most advanced but will probably service your needs fine.
