[SOLVED] I have to underclock my GPU to play games

Hello! I have had this problem for a long time. I have to underclock my gpu to -400 Core clock, and -502 memory clock to play games.

And if i dont underclock gpu, my game goes black screen and my gpu fans ramp up to 100%
SPECS:
GTX 1060 6GB
R5 1600x
8GB RAM
Mars Gaming MPII 550W

Please help

Your power supply is absolute garbage and that’s probably the reason

Agree, that looks like a poor quality unit, even by its own spec it only has 408w on the 12v rail so calling it 550w is an absolute lie.

What psu do you recommend then?

Usually fairly cheap would be a Corsair CX550 but a well priced high quality unit is the Season Focus Gold 550w.

You actually want to change the psu immediately. Using a low quality underpowered psu puts your whole system at risk every time you switch it on.

Just makes it more risky. PSU components deteriorate with time and usage, an over stressed low quality psu is going to deteriorate faster. Many of us have rebuilt systems due to damage caused by a low quality psu failing and would recommend never going for a low quality psu.
