Hi guys, right now I am planning on building my first gaming PC, but I have a budget of £500.

The main thing I want out of this PC is to be able game at 1080p 60+ fps at HIGH settings on most games currently out.

I have tried searching and searching but it is really hard for a noob like me to find something around my budget.

Thanks!!

For £527.41 (not including OS and Monitor)
This is a really good budget build. Although it has an i3, don't underestimate it. That is the best card you can get at the price range and it runs on Intel's skylake architecture so it won't bottleneck you on most games. I opted for the RX 480 from Sapphire for 60+ 1080p gaming performance. Some minor changes can be made to lower the price... for example: Changing out the motherboard for something a bit cheaper, getting a 400W PSU instead of 430W, or opting for less storage or going for a RX 470 instead of the 480. Tell me if you want me to make any of these changes. I may be able to fit in the Monitor there too but I would have to make lots of compromises. For 60+ FPS on most games, I don't think I could include the OS for less than 500 though.

Case is too big. Would opt for a better graphics card. Good CPU if you want to spend a little extra. 600W power supply not needed. Would use that motherboard (when I searched for it, it didn't come up for some reason)

This build looks really good, but I'm a bit scared about the core i3. Are you sure this game would be able to run Battlefield 1 at 60+ fps HIGH and 1080p? Thanks again!

This is perfect for my budget, but as I said I'm a bit scared of the i3 . Can you really play battlefield 1 1080p High at 60fps + ? Thanks a lot dude!

Fast forward to 8:42 for game play performance

Keep in mind, this is being tested with an R9 380 (The RX 480 I chose in my build is significantly better)
So, I expect you should stay above at least 40 fps on ULTRA settings in some games. For most games in High, I expect 60+
Either way, great performance. The RX 480 is a great card and actually, even with the CPU not the best (But just about the best budget CPU you can buy), you should be able to get 60+ FPS no problem.

According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4rrIBvbJbI&ab_channel=BitWit the RX 480 ran the open beta on ULTRA settings at about 90fps. Obviously a better CPU was used but since this game isn't CPU heavy, I expect only a drop of 5-20 frames, still keeping you above 60fps. On a game like Cities: Skylines, your fps may suffer a bit due to that the game is very CPU bound, if you don't play that, don't worry too much though. (My cpu and gpu aren't that great and I can still get like 30-40fps in that game) I have a 4 year old card ;( (UPGRADING SOON YAY!)

Try this little extra on your budget:
MOTHER BOARD: (Asus Z170 PRO Gaming) or MSI (Z170A Gaming M5)
PROCESSOR : Intel Core i5 6600K 3.90 GHz Quad Core Skylake Desktop Processor
COOLER :Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - CPU Cooler with 120mm PWM Fan
RAM :Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz
CABINET :Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-01 Mid Tower Gaming Case
PSU :EVGA 500 W1, 80+ WHITE 500W
SSD :Samsung 750 EVO - 120GB - 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD

based on Budget this is optional
GPU :GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0.

Good build, but with this budget, an SSD is pretty much out of the question and without the graphics card (which will go over budget), this pc won't do very well in the newest games.

@Malorn44: thanks for your comments.
please note: SSD is for only os and apps not for storage.
Well, if you try to play newest games graphic card cost is more then cpu. .
either any one parts need to compromise so i made graphic card........cpu is fine for all games run in low graphic later. if he get budget he can buy graphic card..

Thank you! After watching that video and a couple others, I have confidence that it will run well. I have changed the RX 480 to a GTX 1060 3GB, it's slightly more expensive which is not a problem, but what do you think about that?

I wouldn't put a dual core processor in a new build gaming PC. Up until the fairly recent past a dual core would be fine for gaming but that is changing. You've specifically mentioned Battlefield 1 and that's among the first to take significant advantage of more than 2 or 3 cores.

Can you suggest me a better processor ? I would get an i5 6400 but it is a whole £80 more expensive, and I think thats a bit much. Maybe something £40 , £50 or maybe even £60 more would be great!

I know its much over £500 but i think i can squeeze in some more money for much better performance.
