Computer Type: Desktop

GPU: AMD RX 7900 XTX
CPU: Intel i7-13700k
Motherboard: Z-790 Asus Prime wifi-p
RAM: 32 gb ddr5
PSU: Corsair RM850X
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11
CASE: Corsair 5000D

I have an RX 7900 XTX that shows no display out. I plugged it into my PC with an i7-13700k and used the igpu. The GPU showed up as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. I then tried to use GPU-Z, and it showed barely any information, all that I could see was that it had 24 GB of VRAM and that it was Navi 21... when it was supposed to be Navi 31. The device ID also shows that it's a 6800 or 6900 XT. But it is a 7900 xtx because no other card from AMD has 24 GB of VRAM, and I took it apart, and the die is definitely navi 31. After that, I tried to flash an AMD 7900 xtx bios onto it using AMDvbflash, but was met with an error where the "IFWI's SSID is not the same". How can I bypass this, or what should my next steps be?

and if you've got some black market or 3rd party purchased 'open box' item vs a legit retail version;
then the steps going forward will be very different how you go about tOURbleshooting.
Sorry about that. The card I got is not a retail version. I was wondering if there is any way to bypass the error on Amdvbflash and force a different bios on the card.

You're flashing the wrong BIOS for the card you have. I'm not super familiar with AMD BIOS, but chances are you need the exact BIOS for the specific model of card you have.
Unfortunately, there is no available bios for this card, and I wanted to try to flash a standard bios for a 7900 xtx to see if the card would work. But because of the mismatch between the SSIDs, amdvbflash is preventing me from flashing the bios onto the card. Is there any way to bypass this?

but his card shows up as 1002 73bf, that is navi 21 (rx 6800/6800xt/6900), rest two numbers is card model (subsystem id), his shows up as 1002 1002 (amd amd) which is nonsence
his firmware is probably corrupted or somebody flashed some custom

Unfortunately, there is no available bios for this card,
it should be on techpowerup vbios collection, you just need to select gpu brand as unverified...as it takes time to verify every vbios..so new card vbioses are all there

Yes, someone has forcefully flashed the wrong firmware. This card is navi31, an RX 7900 xtx, as I took it apart and saw the 6 chiplets and 1 main chip design with all 12 vram chips populated. Is there a way to force a bios on the card?

What values should I look for to see if the bios on TechPowerUp will be compatible and flashable on my card?

no idea how it was made, google shows me that cross flashing is not possible yet on rx 7000 serie cards, atleast not through software, with hardware flasher (ch341a) it should be possible

I'm in a similar situation, I bought a beautiful second-hand Hellhound Spectral White 7900 XTX, and it performs less than a 3060, very unstable.
I have verified that it has an unverified bios in techpowerup and on top of another brand of 7900... and it seems that there is no way to change the bios via software 😭
I have no idea what they did or how they did it before I had it
