Hi! I need help figuring out why my laptop is running everything on PCIe 3.0 when it should be PCIe 4.0. Even on the site that has the full review of my laptop (link below) it says on their CPU-Z screenshots that it's PCIe 4.0 but when I checked using the same utility it says PCIe 3.0

This is confusing to me and as I'm looking to add more storage also annoying and that means my GPU haven't been running optimally this entire time. Any help would be greatly appreciated and all my laptop specs is also on the review site. Thanks!

Solution
Well, kind of. If the chipset had PCIe 4.0, devices would likely report back as being connected as such, but the DMI to the CPU would still be PCIe 3.0, so the maximum bandwidth for anything involving the CPU would be limited to that.

So most things would be limited to PCIe 3.0.

The GPU, for example, will be directly connected to the CPU at PCIe 3.0 8x, even though the GPU is capable of 4.0 8x.

Well that's a bummer, but I can't complain since I got it for a really good price and if I want something with similar specs it would be 50% more then what I paid for this so I guess it's fine. Thanks again for you time!
