hi i have a medion akoya e4028 pc and my motherboard has a 24 pin addaptor and the psu which is a 350watt has a 20 pin adaptor which works just fine, i am thinking of upgrading to a corsair builders series cx v2 500w power supply to suit my new hd 6770 graphics card, the psu has a 20+4 pin adaptor i just wanted to know if the extra 4 pins would harm my motherboard if i plug them in aswell?

The split pins are used to work on either a 20 pin or 24 pin atx connector. It will work fine with all 24 pins installed.
