I need to choose a graphics card for my new system build

I posted early my system and someone commented that the Geforce 8600GT is better then the Radeon HD 2600PRO. Is it? Here are the specs for each:

So which one is better? Or if you can find a card at Newegg for under $60 that's better that both of these.

 
Yes the 8600GT is better. The question I ask is, why? That's really a pretty slow card by today's standards. At least consider getting a 4670 or 9600GSO/GT with some good rebates. Personally I hate rebates so I'd go with the 4670 :).
