last night my pc randomly turned off, it didnt shut down it just went off. when i tried to turn it back on there was a bright flash and a pop at the back of my pc and now it wont turn on at all, i think its my psu but am reluctant to go and buy one if theres a possiblity that its something else. can anyone give me any other reason as to why its done this? any help is appreciated, thanks.

Probably fried your power supply, but I can't tell you if the motherboard or cpu was fried with it. Newegg has some low end power supplies as low as $20 with free shipping. Just select the free shipping option to see their current deals. I like antec or ocz for value and quality. Frys has the antec 380 on sale in today' ad if you live near one of their stores.

Yikes.. Not good.. I would say that PSU is DEAD. What are your system specs? You may have overdrived your PSU. Over time it weaken it and POW!! it blew. A PSU is a very improtant part of the system. BUY a quailty PSU, I woulld recommed a Corsair or Ultra X4. Also I would go to the attached link to determine what your system power needs are.
