Hello,

I have a Samsung 960 EVO 250 GB NVMe SSD laying around.

I want to buy a converter so I can put it in the SATA 3 port of my laptop, which currently has a 120gb SATA 3 SSD.

Can I buy any SATA 3 to M2 converter or do I need a particular type?

Is there any that would offer more performance over other ones?

I know I'm going to lose some performance, but I want to take advantage of the larger space.

Thank you.

No you can not. There is no such thing for NVME drives.

If you had a sata M.2 drive like Samsung 860 evo, then you could use such adapter and convert Sata M.2 drive to Sata 2.5'' format.
But it is not possible for NVME drives.
