I wanted to partition the hard disk windows 8

i newly purchased the DELL INSPIRON but after the installation of windows 8, i realise it to partly divide, so I need to divide the hard disk space, help in appropriate way,
theirs only a disk "c" , and this disk is showing the status: boot type.., primary partition, crash dump and etc
