Hi everyone, i ave a question bout i3 530.

I m using the stock cooler nd getting 36 C iddle temps, tho i do not use the power for anything since i don t play games or do video editing / encoding.

So my question is, is it possiable to underCLOCK it to get lower temps?

There's no reason to be concerned about that idle temp. What are your ambient (room) temps when you test and get 36C?

Undervolting & downclocking your CPU is possible. Does your motherboard support those options?

Im running an i3 540, at 3.8ghz, i do lots of gaming as well but i will usually idle anywhere from 32 in winter to 40 in summer. Nothing unusual, undervolting might get you a bit cooler though.
