i5 7400 vs i3 7350k

Yea, I only have a 750 TI....

If you're going to stick with the 750 Ti, either CPU will be more than capable enough for you. If you plan to upgrade down the line, I would invest in the i5 personally to have a bit more longevity and flexibility, but if you're confident that won't be the case, and you want to save a few bucks, you could safely go with the i3.

In fact, a G4600 can be had for less than i3 and performs about the same, like you said there's no way a current i3 can bottleneck a 750 ti, even a G4400 runs just fine

i5 7400

The 7350K is going to be way too pricey, that CPU should be under $150 to make sense

Despite running at insane frequencies, 4 real cores is better than 2 real cores+hypertheading so i5 will be a good long term choice. However you should know that either CPU runs good with your GPU and if you are not in a hurry wair for AMD's ryzen CPU

I'm not in an hurry to buy any CPU, I just don't think the AMD CPU's will be able to compete with Intels.

Or should I get an Pentium G4620 and a nice cooler and overclock the living ***** out of it?

Pretty sure you can't overclock a G4620, or any locked Kaby Lake CPU. You could only OC locked Skylake CPUs on certain motherboards (almost exclusively Z170), with specific older BIOS revisions (was phased out in newer revs because Intel put their foot down). Those older BIOS revs won't support Kaby Lake. I doubt any 200 series mobos will allow non-K OC.
