Hello, back in 2020 i bought my first good gaming PC, i5 9400F, RTX 2060 6 GB, 16 GB RAM DDR4, 250 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD. All those years the PC was going strong, i was proud of the performance i had, until last summer, when i started to experience FPS drops, but i didnt mind that, because it wasnt that strong, but 2 months ago everything changed.

I cleaned up my PC, changed the thermal paste on GPU + CPU and reinstalled the windows from 0, and i experience very hard FPS drops. I installed MSI Afterburner and my GPU was around 40-50 °C on lower performance mode, while all the 6 Cores from my CPU at 100%.

I got in FN from 160 fps to 50 or lower. I am not sure if this is only a CPU problem or could be something else as well.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Did you run DDU to remove all GPU drivers(intel, AMD and Nvidia) from your platform and then manually reinstalled with the latest driver from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command? Assuming you're on Windows, that is.
