Hello,
After using my i7-920 running at 4 Ghz (now with a GTX 970) for almost 10 years, I am about to build a new system with a i9-9900k and a RTX 2070 Super. Will I see a good performance increase especially with the newest Total war games for example? I mean a meaningful performance increase that is worth the cost?

I game at 1080p, but I do have performance issues with the latest games with my old system and I would to run with ultra settings.

Thanks.

2060 SUPER would be better for 1080P 2070 SUPER is more meant for 1440P, Yes the increase will be pretty big but it's probably the CPU bottlenecking the GPU with how slow it is which is what's making your games seem to be having performance issues, Yes total war will run just fine with that set up on max settings.

Thanks for the reply. The reason I want to get a GTX 2070 super as I may be going to 1440P within a year or so.

Yes, I also agree that even with a good overclock on my i7-920, it's getting very long in the tooth now. I definitely have performance issues with even older Total War games like Rome 2 and Attila where I have to turn down quite a lot of settings.

Ah, then go for it!
