IE6 freezing when downloading a file

IE6 is locking up everytime I try to download a file from a link. As soon
as the window switches to "saving", the lockup occurs and I have to use task
mgr to close IE.

It doesn't appear to be a program error. Under another profile on the
computer, downloads work fine.

I've tried clearing out my history, temp, and temp internet files, but am
still having the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Christian

1. What is the computer's virus/malware status? If you think the
computer is clean, what did you do/use to determine this?

2. How do you connect to the Internet (method/hardware)?

3. What changed between the time things worked and the time they didn't?

I've run a full AV and spyware scan. MSAS picked up nothing. AV software
picked up some viruses in the java directory (?) and delted them. The issue
is still occuring, but only for my profile.

Through a Linksys router connected to cable modem.

As far as I can tell, nothing. No new software or patch installs.
