I have been trying to run Undertale on increasingly old hardware. I had success on a Dell Inspiron 8600 using Puppy Linux.
I am now trying to run the same exact OS and command on laptops with intel celeron ~300MHz processors. but when I run ./runner or sh run.sh it gives the error "Illegal Instruction"
Is there a different OS or a package I can install to fix this?

Still a little new to the forum. I dont know if it belongs in another section or not, but my best guess was an incompatible CPU

I have tried two different laptops with the same error:
IBM ThinkPad 240
Sony Vaio PCG-N505VE
Operating System: Precise Puppy 5.7.1

Both good points. At one point I thought it was the CPU, because I was able to get it to work with 256MB ram before, and then on a different PC with two 128MB modules it didnt run. I think it might be best to use a VM to figure this out. I did have a few errors in VM when I moved to other rooms on 256MB ram that killed the game, but that wasnt illegal instruction
