Question I'm considering upgrading my CPU in a RTX 2070S system ?

So I´m considering upgrading my old i7-7700K CPU to something like an i5-13400F to use with my RTX 2070S, in addition to a new cooler and motherboard so the total upgrade price here in Norway will be around 500 dollars i think. How much of a performance increase can I expect? FYI I game on 1440p.

Considering such large gap in generations quite a bit. You mighz need new RAM too.

You'll see no frame rate increase on anything you're playing unless the game is currently CPU bound.

For non-gaming tasks anything that uses the CPU will be significantly faster.

I already have 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 memory which I plan to use if i decide to upgrade the CPU and motherboard. I don’t feel like a new set of DDR5 memory will be necessary.

You have to pick an MB that is still compatible with DDR4.

I have. There are just as many Z790 DDR4 motherboards here as there are DDR5.
