Apple is a great innovator, but isn't the actual manufacturer of any of its component. So I guess any high quality chassis / monitor would survive.

Yes, plugging in burnt electronics is safe. Everyone knows fire does not strike in the same place twice.

Or was it sharks? No no, it was bees.

[citation][nom]ionut19[/nom]It's not hate, it's "getting sick of MAC-MAC-MAC" and their "interesting" advertising..Personally I don't hate them, I just like the rest more.[/citation]

I agree. It is like the AT&T commercials. Unless they had someone like Beyonce or some hot chick on it, it gets old real quick when every other commercial is an Apple one.

I hate Apple INC with a passion i had an iPhone and loved it but so much about it i hated and i cant stand the incompatibilities with everything apple makes but there is no denying the hardware quality from Apple even tho its not made directly by apple they still make all the decisions on how to make it

Well, I did a rough assessment, and the Apple articles represent about 7% of TH's total articles. Given that Apple has about 7% market share, then it seems appropriate. Unfortunately, too many of the Apple articles are human interest stories like the fire, or the preying mantis, etc.

Then there always is that final option available to all...if you do not like the subject matter, then don't read it.

"Unfortunately, the whole house and all things in there completely destroyed."

Completely destroyed? This guy must have never seen a burnt down house his whole life.

[citation][nom]crazymech[/nom]I'm amazed at all the irrational apple hate here on tom's.[/citation]

I personally agree with you that it's way over board. If you find the "We Were Smoked" article about iTunes and look at the second page of comments, my long winded opinion on this is there.

christ! first the imake-boom-in-your-pocket, and now the iburnt-your-freakin-house-down! apple just loves killing people! lol!

I can imagine the fireman: "sorry, it seems that your computer was completely destroyed, we turned it on and all we get is this completely random, unorganized jumble of windows and icons, its completely unusable."

The melting point of aluminium is 660.32°C. Its obvious this fire was extremely minor as the chassis is completely normal with no deformities. Not to mention the Ikea mdf bookcase was also unharmed.

While this guy probably thinks it's impressive that his computer still works, I'm betting he'll change his mind when the Insurance company says "I'm sorry, your computer still works so we will not cover it." and he ends up having to keep a half melted and burnt computer that smells of smoke every time he turns it on.

I'm also calling BS on this story.
The screen looks like he just wiped some mud on it from the same puddle he dunked his mouse in. He did sacrifice his keyboard though.

Well, I do hate them.

For all those wondering about the screen being in such a good shape even if it was only smoke and areal heat this might be in part because the imac's have a glass plate in front of the screen while most if not all common computer monitors lack this feature.

Personally i dont like the glass plate but it seems like this is the one case in which it owuld be handy.
