[citation][nom]hakesterman[/nom]Why do yo need Verification, are you afraid Apple's Quality far Exceeds that Microsoft computer youbought???[/citation]

One thing about the internet and sites like this... It really shows you the lack of intelligence of the community. Listen and learn grasshopper.

At what temperature do LCD displays burst/break down?
I personally think this is a fake or doctored picture(s).
LCD panels can't survive the heat of a fire..they will simply bust.

Now the real question is was it insured and was he able to collect on it? It does make for one fine ass custom mac case!

The iMacs don't use LCD, they use LED.

[citation][nom]kaizer1784[/nom]"Unfortunately, the whole house and all things in there completely destroyed."Completely destroyed? This guy must have never seen a burnt down house his whole life.[/citation]

No, you must not be familiar with the process of determining whether something is "destroyed." There is a point where the insurance company says it will be cheaper to replace the damaged property. To be "destroyed" a piece of property does not have to be reduced to ashes...smoke damage alone is enough to "destroy" a house. From the looks of it they will have to gut the place, and replace all of the dry wall, molding, etc.

[citation][nom]guitarpeggio[/nom]Unfortunately his "fauxhawk" was badly singed and all of his girl pants and ironic t-shirts were destroyed.[/citation]
Don't you just hate liberals? C'mon, he even uses a Mac!

[citation][nom]brendano257[/nom]+1 for Apple build quality. I put my old Ipod Nano through the washer and dryer while it was on, still works to this day. Although I upgraded a while ago, it's still kicking around somewhere. However, the headphones do NOT appreciate the dryer...they curled and solidified in an odd manner unfortunately.[/citation]
-1 for understanding probabilities.

I'll forgive the lack of knowledge of the fire being minor, but seriously do you expect every Mac (or PC) to be destroyed by every fire? No. Also, confirm the negative. If this was a build quality was better then the number of Macs destroyed in a fire should be significantly low.

In other words, one computer's anecdotal story does not constitute a trend. That's like saying one pro-lifer shot an doctor that conducted abortions dead, so all pro-lifers advocate murdering doctors!

So has anyone every put a fire to the mouse cord itself....unless that is wrapped in titanium those LITTLE wires are gonna melt. Interesting that it survived, but it does go to show how stupid Mac USERS are...risking an electrical fire after just suffering a house fire.

The most amazing part of this story is that an iMac can withstand that much heat from an external source but can't survive the own heat it generates within. I had 12 of 11 iMacs die at my old workplace (one died twice after warranty repair). Cause of death: overheating.

With the right conditions any computer could survive a fire. What does this prove? I certainly would not continue to use it? Get the information off the hard drive and let insurance cover the replacement.
Freakin' Mac users!

[citation][nom]deadlockedworld[/nom]now THAT is a custom case 🙂[/citation]

[citation][nom]dman3k[/nom]I call this BS. We need verification.[/citation]

[citation][nom]mousemonkey[/nom]It's improved the look of the thing though.[/citation]

[citation][nom]cichy69[/nom]even fire doesn't want to touch that mac $h1T ;][/citation]

Damn! I haven't seen so much Apple hate in a long time. I LOVE YOU GUYS! +1000 for your freaking awesome comments. GO PC!!

[citation][nom]dman3k[/nom]Apple and Quality is to Tang and Orange. It's artificial!Of course most drivers work when you only have so few choices.[/citation]

what do you mean???
