Important Question for New Computer

I am planning on building a new computer and I wanted to know opinions on the processor/mobo/memory combo i plan on ordering. I am ordering the p4 3.2ghz 800mhz fsb, a DFI Lanparty PRO 875 Skt478 DDR ATX mobo, and Kingston HyperX PC4000 twin 512 modules. I know the potential looks nice but is the mobo up to par? Also, if anyone knows how this will work in a Coolermaster ATC-210C-AX1 case please comment as well (standard ATX), all this is very important and expensive 8P. thanks

The mobo is no good, very slow, go for the Asus P4C800-Deluxe. This will maximize performance with the cpu and ram.

Anyone who clames they can tell the difference between 450 and 500 FPS in Quake 3 should be severly beaten in the head with a rock. :eek:

why don't you consider a P4P800? On the market there are the last i865 with PAT emulation and with one of these mobo you can reach almost the same performances of the more expensive i875p ;)

some pat "emulated" boards can perform better than the real 875 based boards..

3 386DX-25's...12 volts...glue some ln2 and a wicked amount of overclocking and you get a willamantee minus 36 pins, 33.75 million transistors and a couple hundred mhz... :cool:

Yeah that mobo blows, go with ASUS. You could save yourself a pretty penny by getting the p4 2.8 and oc it to 3.2 at third of the price.

Since everybody else already meantioned the P4P800, I thought I'd mention the Abit IC7-G and IS7-G. Anandtech places them at the top for performance, and they have nice features.

No I can't wait unfortunately. I don't need the computer's power for school, but i do need the computer as im selling my laptop a day from now and i won't have a computer. also, thanks for all the help guys. honestly, I don't know where to put this question so it won't be a bother, but i'll just stick it into this thread. Ok so that's what I'm ordering and I have a couple questions. First, about the mobo, is the network card im getting ok? Also, the Asus site has no mention of DDR500 memory, so will the board support 2x 512 modules? I'm happy with the quality of these parts so I'm really just looking to see if someone can point out a compatibility problem, etc. also, to go along with these parts will i need any other cables/controllers that i haven't listed or that don't come with the parts?

is that a gigabit eithernet adapter you have added on...if so...why? Do you really need another eithernet adapter...and do you really want to spend the extra money for only 33mb/s faster transfer than a standard 10/100 adapter...

That ram will be backwards compatable to your board...

hardware boss, can't i tweak the timing myself through bios? or is there actually a performance benefit to moving down to pc3500?
pIIIman, i didn't know if the mobo came with an ethernet adapter, the website just said a LAN controller...
