Inspiron 2650 and Ipod

Has *anyone* successfully gotten an Ipod to work with an Inspiron
2650? If so, could you share which Firewire or USB 2.0 card you're
using and what, if any, tricks, patches, workarounds or other
contortions you needed to do to make it work?

I don't use an Ipod.

But, this might be of help.

For USB2.0 with my I2650, I use this card:
http://addonics.com/products/hub_adapter_converter/cardbus_usb2_adapter.asp

However, for it to work properly, it is necessary to install this:

Thanks. For whatever reason, that patch doesn't help me - I've
installed it several times.

I finally got the Ipod working last night on the native USB port, but
it'd be nice to get USB 2 working on the machine for the speed.

I don't know if this might be of help (it wasn't to me - I couldn't even find
such a setting), but just in case:
