Question Installing a hard drive caddy into a Lenovo g580 laptop

Hello!
I want to remove the DVD tray that came with my laptop and install a Hard Drive tray instead to use as additional storage. I am using a Lenovo g580 laptop (model name 2189).
How do I select the correct hard drive caddy? does their size vary from laptop to laptop or are they universal, and if they do vary, how shall I measure the thickness and length? will my PSU be able to handle another drive? Any suggestions are welcome.

There are 9.5mm and 12.7mm bay heights. You will need to determine which you will need. Other than that, the footprint should be pretty-much the same among the same bay heights across laptops.

If power is a consideration, check with the manufacturer for specifications, or take the sure solution and go with SSDs in both bays.
