Installing a New SSD and Windows 8.1

So I recently purchased a Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB drive and a copy of Windows 8.1. Right now in my computer I have a simple 1 TB HDD and Windows 7 installed. I want to keep the 1 TB HDD and use it for programs and media files and want to use the SSD for booting Windows and some programs. My question is how do you go about deleting everything on the HDD?

I know that you can go about formatting a drive during the Windows installation process, so is that what I would have to do?

Yes you will have to delete all partitions under the custom install option and then choose you're SSD as the drive you want to install windows on.

After that you should create folders in your 1TB HDD for chrome downloads and keep media files on, I personally do this so I can just use my SSD for applications

It's also best to unplug your HDD when installing with on a SSD to reduce conflicts, then re plug when installation is done.

don't copy install windows agaiin in yor SDD if you wont to boot your pc faster than HDD always install windows on SDD and for program Use HDD
