Am trying to add more memory to my PC (from 256 to 768 of DDR) and my bios
recognizes the memory, but my xp home edition just keeps rebooting and
rebooting. I think there's an error message every now and then on a bright
blue screen but it appears and disappears in just a second and I can never
read what it says. Any thoughts? By the way, if I just put in the new 512
the computer works fine, and with just the 256 it works fine, but both
together then XP keeps rebooting over and over. Many thanks in advance for
any and all help.

Run with the 512mb that works.. even though BIOS recognises all of the
strips, it is important to get memory that matches..

They are identical in specs except for one is 256 and the other is 512 (both
made by Crucial)

Sometimes it makes a difference which sockets you put the memory in.
Check the mother board documentation. Maybe try different socket
combinations.
