Question Installing nVidia Drivers

When you manually install nVidia drivers does the install automatically replace any currently installed dirver?
Or do you need to first remove the current driver?

the question is, what drivers are already installed?

if the old drivers are also Nvidia, then it's fine to just use Express Install.

if the old drivers are AMD, you need to use DDU to get rid of those before installing any Nvidia drivers.

The installer usually removes any driver it's updating on its own.

windows driver repository has a copy of every Nvidia driver installed so no, the updater doesn't remove them. It just replaces them...

unless you click clean install on the geforce experience app.

I could've sworn in some instances the installer did say it was removing drivers. Oh well.

However "Clean install" only resets the settings.
