intel doesn't let users allocate memory for gma 4500. it's usually dynamically allocated. for example, 797mb.

Depends of how much RAM you have, I think it is 1/8 of your total RAM by default.

No the x4500 gma doesnt support HD Video. Note that this card was designed in 2006 for mid end laptops. The only integrated graphics card that support lag free HD Playback is the intel HDxxxx series. You can find them in 2nd gen intel cpus like i5 2400 (hd2000), or i72600k (hd3000) 0r even in the upcoming ivy bridge cpus (with hd4000).

The Intel GMA 4500MHD supports HD video playback. I have one in my old laptop, and it does fine.

yes. intel gma 4500 hd offers hd video playback. mine plays 720p and 1080p fine.
