I've got a MSI H170 Gaming M3 motherboard. I installed my new Intel 600p SSD in the M.2 slot and it is not being detected. I've gone through BIOS settings to see if I can fix it there, have yet to find anything helpful. Beginning to think my motherboard is actually not supported, but I'm not 100% sure.

Solution
How many video cards do you have? That motherboard is limited to 16 PCIe lanes, so if you're running two or even just one at 16x you might not have any lanes free for the M.2 slot. You may need to downgrade your PCIe slot to 8x and just one video card to actually use the M.2.

Sucks, I know.

Ive got a MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X. I don't know a lot about PCIe lanes, so not sure if it's taking all 16 lanes. If it is, how can I make my GPU use 8 lanes instead?
