[SOLVED] Intel 660p M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB - Slower Times Then Advertised

All,

I just bought a new Intel 660p M.2 NVMe SSD 1TB hard-drive and transferred over to run as my primary OS drive. Everything seems to be setup ok, from an installation standpoint and running as my primary OS.

However, some speed tests I did on CrystalDiskMark 7.0.0 seem lower then advertised for this drive. I also ran a "UserBenchmark" test and this drive ran only in the "33rd Percentile" for the same comparable drive among other users.

I am running trim functionality and did clear the internal cache so far. I did check the drivers and it shows "Microsoft Drivers from 2006". So I am assuming this is probably my issue, generic out-of-date drivers?

So, I am assuming it is probably better to go to the Intel website for my product and download better and more recent drivers? Which drivers should I choose the "Intel Opium Acceleration One or the NVMe Client one" ?

My specs Windows 10 version 1909. Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 7 vers. 1.0. I think (I think?), I can run at pciex4 or pciex2?

Any advice would be greatly appreciate it.

You want to use the Intel Client NVMe driver. It's for the storage controller on the drive, not the drive itself, if you go by Device Manager.

Install the Intel Client driver as was suggested, and also update the BIOS on your motherboard if you haven't done so already.
