Hi there,
its my first post here. i dont know much abt processors except few things. i am about to buy a lenovo with Intel Core i5-470UM processors but not able to find any comparisons of this processor with other processors of i5 family. can you please help is it a good processor or what. also can you tell me which processor is faster i3-380M or i5-470UM or Intel Pentium Dual Core P6200 2.13Ghz.
thanks

thank you. so all processor ending with UM like 5470UM are low voltage processors? is there any site where i can compare different processor (amd and intel) for speed and performance. as i dont feel good to post these basic questions again and again.

can anyone tell me which one is the better option for laptop

DELL - Intel Core i5-460M Processor (3M cache, 2.53 GHz) (REFURBISHED)
Toshiba - AMD Phenom II Triple-Core Mobile Processor N850 2.2 GHz, 1.5MB L2 Cache
Toshiba - AMD Turion™ II P560 Dual-Core Processor
Dell - Intel® Core™ i3-370M (2.4GHz, 4Threads, 3M cache)

any help would be appreciated
thanks

In terms of performance the Dell i5-460M has the most processing power, while it is a dual core processor its 2 cores get more work done per clock cycle than the Phenom II triple core. What do you plan on using the laptop for? If you are doing any gaming than you would need a graphics card.

i will using it mostly for programming and graphic designing stuff. dell i5-460m is a refurbished laptop whereas all other are new. how much difference of performance will be? will it be significant?
