Just got this board, everything is running fantastically...except for this damned external HD via eSATA, it isnt being recognozed by the BIOS or Windows. I loaded up the Marvell Raid Controller and used the red (there is one red and 3 blue) SATA port as instructed by Intel's book...and nothing. At one point, it was making Windows reboot over and over again and I had to take it out of the port. I even tried hooking it up to the regular SATA ports (Intel's are black) and STILL nothing. I called tech support, and they know NOTHING about their own damn products. The drive is a 500 GB Seagate wrapped in a VanTec casing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Actually, I am a liar...the HDD is a WD, not a Seagate.

But here is the kicker, I had the same set up on another computer (eSATA adapter in a SATA slot) and it worked COMPLETELY fine. It was a cheaper PC as well!!! I know its the MOBO, and its really tickin me off! I'm at my wits end.

BTW, the drive shows up when its connected via USB, I just cant get it up and running on the eSATA connection.

So I've some to the conclusion that it is infat the VanTec enclusre, due to doing some research on it and finding the same problems with other boards. I would have to switch the drive from SATA II to SATA I, and even then, its not that reliable. I am looking for a different enclusure that supports SATA II drives to the fullest and has better compaitibility issues.

Thanks for the help!
