You can pick up a q6600 for $199 at Frys for the past 2 months. Have seen it as low as $186 from time to time, retail...just drive over to the store and pick it up.

Difference between Intel and AMD doing price cuts is that Intel can afford it as their yeilds @45nm are very good. If the SB750 does turn out decent maybe AMD wont have to cut prices in order to match and can try to make some money at some time.

Why would you want to give amd a nosebleed fanboy? You better pray amd hangs in there or you'll be a victim of a monopoly. Competition lowers prices. Without AMD, Intel can charge you whatever they want.
