Hello all
I do loads of photo editing and found my Nikon Capture NX2 program is killing my Intel Core2Duo 2.66MHz machine.

The machine is around 2.5 years old, and I was never happy with its performance from the very start.
I have spoken with my supplier and he reckons the motherboard may be the issue.

The specs:

Processor: x86 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11 GenuineIntel ~2666 Mhz
MB: Intel(R) G33/G31/P35 Express Chipset PCI Express
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS graphics card
4GB DDR2 RAM

Is it possible to replace only the motherboard and re-use the other components, and if so, will I gain any performance from it?
Jaco

family 6 model 15 stepping 11 appears to be a q6600 quad core, that pc is quite sufficient for modern workloads, u have a quad core with 4 gigs of ram, uninstall windows and start from scratch, there might be software conflicts etc slowing you down, yes, there are software conflicts installed from manufacturer sometime
