That really shouldn't be a suprise. Presscot supposed to be a P5 and just like you can't use P4 in P3 boards you can't use p5 in p4 boards. Beside intel has it down so ppl spend more money upgrading both cpus and motherboards.

Intel has said basically that they saved a few bux by cutting corners on their mobo's....this does not mean that all p4 mobos will not support scotty...

No joke and it is a marketing tactic to make you buy yet another mobo. This should not come to a suprise to people. This only teaches a lesson to never jump on new releases.

well the document they link to (intel's pdf file) only referers to 865g boards, it says nothing about 865pe and 875p...

if it IS true which i highly doubt effects all boards...asus will loose tons of money for saying that it had support

Anyway I really dont see the point in buying a scotty runnin on a 865/875 chipset.IMO you shouldnt buy scotty b4 the second revision with the new chipset and pin package...
